This Privacy Policy describes how Trym ("we," "us," or "our") handles your information in connection with the Trym: Hairstyle Try-On mobile application (the "App").

By using our Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Photos

When you use the App's hairstyle generation or face analysis features, you select a photo from your device camera or photo library. That photo is transmitted to Google's Gemini API solely to generate your hairstyle simulation or facial analysis result. We do not store your photos on our servers at any point. The photo exists in memory only for the duration of the request and is discarded immediately after the result is returned.

1.2 Generated Images and Analyses

All hairstyle previews you generate and all AI Stylist analyses you save are stored locally on your device using your device's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is never uploaded to our servers. You can delete individual items at any time from within the App, or clear all data via Settings. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data permanently.

1.3 Subscription Information

Subscription transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details, billing address, or card information. We receive only a confirmation from Apple that a valid subscription exists for your device, which we use to grant access to the App's features.

1.4 Support Communications

If you contact us at support@get-trym.com, we may collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message, solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Photos

We transmit your selected photo to Google's Gemini API exclusively to generate your requested hairstyle simulation or facial analysis result. We do not use your photos for any other purpose, including advertising, model training, or profiling. Your photo is not retained by us after the result is delivered to your device.

2.2 Subscription Status

We use Apple's confirmation of your subscription status to determine whether to grant you access to the App's features and to track your monthly usage.

2.3 Support

We use information you provide when contacting support solely to respond to your request.

3. Disclosure to Third Parties

3.1 Google Gemini API

When you use the hairstyle generation or face analysis features, your selected photo is transmitted to Google LLC's Gemini API for processing.

  • Recipient: Google LLC (Gemini API)

  • Data sent: The photo you select and generation parameters

  • Purpose: Generating hairstyle simulation images or facial structure analysis

  • Retention by Google: According to Google's policies, data submitted via the paid Gemini API is not used to train or improve Google's models. Input data is processed in transit and is not retained after the response is generated.

Before your photo is transmitted for the first time, the App will request your explicit consent. If you do not consent, your photo will not be transmitted and the feature will not function.

3.2 Supabase

We use a Supabase Edge Function solely as a secure proxy to forward your image generation requests to Google's Gemini API without exposing our API key in the App. Supabase does not receive, store, or process your photos beyond the duration of the request. We do not use Supabase for any database, storage, or user management purposes.

3.3 Apple

Subscription and payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple's privacy policy applies to all payment transactions: apple.com/legal/privacy

3.4 No Sale of Personal Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

4. Data Storage and Retention

4.1 On Your Device

All hairstyle previews, AI Stylist scans, and usage data are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data. You can delete individual items from within the App at any time. You can delete all locally stored data via Settings → Clear app data. Deleting the App removes all data permanently.

4.2 Our Servers

We do not maintain a database of user data. We do not store your photos, generated images, or analysis results on our servers at any time.

4.3 Support Communications

If you contact us for support, we retain your communication only for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry.

5. User Consent for Photo Transmission

In compliance with Apple's App Store guidelines, the App will request your explicit consent before transmitting any photo to Google's Gemini API. This consent prompt will clearly identify what data is being sent, who it is being sent to, and why. You may decline consent, in which case your photo will not be transmitted and the feature will not function.

6. Your Rights (GDPR — EU and EEA Users)

Since we do not store personal data on our servers, most of your data rights can be exercised directly by deleting content within the App or deleting the App entirely.

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@get-trym.com.

8. Security

All communications between the App and third-party services (including the Gemini API) are encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols. Since we do not store your personal data or images on our servers, the primary security of your data rests with your device's own security features.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via the App Store update notes. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
